Have I ever mentioned how much I hate my bank. I bank with Scotiabank. I know, I shouldn’t. But, I have been lazy and am now paying for it. So, we are in the midst of switching things around and it is alot of hassle. Let me just say though, Soctiabank has horrible service. It ins’t just recently I have thought this, I have finally just had enough.
But, I was stuck by a funny sight while waiting in line for the drive through ABM. The truck in front of me could be in town for the monster truck bash. It was huge. It was so huge, the driver had to pour himself out of his window at his waist to reach down to the keypad. It looked so awkward and too funny for words. So, at least I got a good laugh before the crying and screaming started when it was my turn at the machine.

I banked with Scotiabank when I was in university, because they had a branch up at SFU. When I went to Ottawa for a 4-month work term the travel agency lost the cheque I’d used to pay for the airline tickets. I had to put a stop payment on it for security. So I went into the local Scotiabank branch to get them to do it, and they INSISTED I needed to be at my home branch. In Burnaby. Thousands of kilometers away. It was eventually resolved, but not until I had a sobbing breakdown in the bank.
had a scotiabank account while at sfu too. it was their free student account. so went to renew my student status up at the branch on campus one day (once a year thing). the person was nice, did the paperwork and all but then a few weeks later got charged a monthly fee in my account! I went to ask them and they said I never renewed it and asked for me to show them the paperwork, which I had thrown out cause I didn’t think I’d need it anymore. the same person that did it for me was in the same room too! in the end had to suck it up and have them change the status back to student, again… now I use president’s choice card from superstore. no fees and unlimited transactions.
Sweet heart NO ONE can hate Scotia bank as much as I do… they are the bank that wouldn’t cover my mortgage after my husband passed away. Even though we had paid for insurance on it since day one! But apparently there is a claus in there stating they only have to pay if they feel like it! Ha!
Hate hate hate…hate hate hate them
We should start a FB group on how much we like Scotia Bank.
I wish I had of been inside when I had my screaming fit – I was outside banging my head on the door and then ranting and raving inside the vestibule where the ATM’s are. I am sure the guys who watch the security cameras got a good laugh at me.
Ha – the last laugh is on them….I am changing banks and then they can kiss my ass!
Scotiabank is the worst bank in the country. Even with a solid employment history, a good fico score and good credit rating with one disputed mark on my credit bureau from 5 years ago, they told me to f*ck off when I applied for their “Scotiamortgage”. Well, they’ll never see another cent from me and they can f*ck off. I am definitely “richer than they think” and they can f*ck themselves.
Scotia bank always stole money from me!! a little 2.95$ here and 4.95$ there. When I called customer service, they told me I had to go in branch. But with my working hours, I couldn’t get in branch every month.
I got there one day with one question : ” why are you charging me service fees on my savings account ? ” ( which was suppose to be free; which I had no checks for and always used online banking to transfer money in and out) They couldn’t explain!! The manager there told me that maybe sometime 6 months ago something happen… He also told me he would credit investigate and call me back . He didn’t do any of the above!!
I had 3 accounts there… I closed them one by one. As I was trying to close the last account , They forced me to pay the service fee for a full monthly cycle when they had just charged me a week before!!!
Scotia bank Sucks!!!! I hope the go bankrupt!! the customer service suck!! And they robbed me!! Beware of those 4.95$ secret service fees!!
I’m delighted (in a sense) to know that I’m not the only individual who holds such utter contempt for ScotiaBank. Two years ago when I was a graduate student I was a victim of identify theft — a total of three hundred dollars was fraudulantly withdrawn from my checking account. Not only did ScotiaBank NOT reimberse me — they treated me like a criminal! My debit card was taken away from me (meaning I had to go to the branch daily to take out $20 or so). On top of this inconvenience at the end of the month (it took THREE weeks for them to grant me another debit card) I was charge $35 or so for the service fees! I had been with ScotiaBank for ten years — and they treat people like absolute garbage. I switched to another branch and I am so, so, so much happier. ScotiaBank is garbage — particularly the branch on Commercial Drive in Vancouver.
Where do I begin with this terrible institution. I was given a business card by my banker that says “Service Excellence” I wrote “bullshit” right beside her name. The only reason I started banking with the Scotiabank was because I bought a home from them that they had repossessed. Biggest mistake of my life. Now, I am locked in for another 2 years or have to pay a hefty penalty………..THAT is the only thing keeping me there. Terrible service, no one returns calls, they seriously lack in the “Financal Advisor” catigory and they are rude and cocky. I can’t wait to get out of there. My boyfriend is having the same issues and is on his way out as well…………..live and learn I guess.
Lets see….
I applied for a visa card and asked for $3000 they said sure no problem sent me my card activate it and no $3000 dollars it was only $1000, called to ask what the hell was going on they said I was a high risk and couldnt be approved at this time they felt 1000 was enough!! what can u get for a thousand dollars???? Only reason i went with them was the cheap interest rate well i told them where to stick it i went to bmo and they gave me 5000 no problem never told me i was a high risk and what they feel was appropiate for me How dare they!!! Also when i had a bank account with them they they charged me an overdraft and NSF fee even though i had money in my account. Their reason….. well our system proccessed your debit transactions first before your deposit thats why it is overdrawn. How nice for their system I have to pay NSF Fees becuase they have a shitty system that doesnt know how to add and subtract IF i had no money in my account my debit card would be declined at terminals seeing how i had no overdraft UGH my advice go to a real bank and stay away from scotiacrap.
Oh they are seriously messed up. I’ve had this on-going thing with them which is now going to have to go into litigation where they hugely messed up on a case of elder financial abuse. They are rude, they are obstructive, they are unreasonable. This is not a branch by branch thing, it is a systematic problem wherein they see the customer as a powerless little person to be dealt with as they see fit. If you don’t bow down to them they attempt to get punative.
Scotiabank is horrendous. Worst bank in the country by a very long mile.
Very true experriences. Never go to Scotiabank for any of your banking needs. I opened account with them expecting better service. But right from the beginning they are rude and doesn’t care about customers. Though they advertise anywhere banking, we have to go to the home branch for everything. And the customer complaint resolution sucks.
I must agree. I had a bank account with BNS since I was 8 (I’m now 38). I used to go to the bank with my school once a week to deposit money. This went on for quite a few years. Once I was old enough, I continued to let my money build in that account. I’ve never had bad credit, bounced cheques or otherwise. My credit report is excellent. When I was 20, I was looking to purchase a car… I went to Scotia for a loan and was declined, despite my ongoing employment. I went to CIBC and they immediately threw the loan papers at me and said, sign here!
When I was 24 and was looking to go on a trip with my uncle to BC, California and Arizona, I figured it would be nice to have some disposable money, so again… I marched on up to BNS looking for a $1500 visa….. NOPE! They were not interested in giving me a credit card. So – again, I went to CIBC and they said “here you go!” $2500 credit limit! About 8 years ago, I wanted to put an overdraft protection on my account of anywhere between $200-$500 – AGAIN – I marched on up to BNS, filled out an application and to no availe they said NO… Finally I told them that enough is enough and I was withdrawing all my money… they asked why? and if there was anything that they could do for me… I reminded them about how interested they were NOT in ever loaning me money – apparently. I pulled all my money out and parked at CIBC. For 6 years now, I’ve had my mortgage with Maple Trust, who I found very helpful.. I renewed for another 5 year term last year, then in March 2009 I received phone call from BNS indicating that Maple Trust had sold out to them. Now – needless to say those IDIOTS are now holding my mortgage. I was up at the bank inquiring about refinincing for personal reasons and not only are the not sure if my mortgage is insured, (which it WAS – and they are taking forever to look into), they AGAIN would not fullfill my needs! I am SO FU*&(^N fed of with those sons of b*&$ch’s!!!!!! I’m taking my money – AGAIN and bringing my business elsewhere where i KNOW they will finance me for what I am looking for!
Is it just me or does scotiabank not like lending money out to anyone? what exactly do you need to borrow money from them?
While I’d like to jump on the bashing bandwagon, and I empathize/sympathize with each of you, I daresay one would be met with carbon copy complaints were one to do a search under whatever banking institution, and adding the search parameter ‘sucks’. Banks, in general, suck. We are all numbers, people. Numbers with numbers stockpiled against the day when our number is up.
Bleak, but true.
ps. looking at switching to ScotiaBank based on crappy treatment from out current banking institution, CIBC, to which we switched 5 years ago after being treated poorly at TD Canada Trust. (we’ll chat further in a few years after ScotiaBank dicks us about for a while!)
r
currently have my mortgage with scotia, and am going to declare personal bankruptcy, called the back to see if i can keep my house, they tell he they cant discuss over the phone, and i go in, the lady doesnt know and will call me with the answer? why did you waste my time!
has anyone had experience with this?
Ohhh, thats nothing, long story short, they are suing us after not even looking into our mortgage that was previously taken over from Maple Trust. I guess they screwed up and tried to relinquish the mortgages they passed out and now they want their money back. We asked them if we could have a morgage exgtension on our rental property and they told us sure but we would have to default 3 pymts in order to qualify. so we did and now after contacting the ombudsman to file a formal complaint, they, with no response have served us at our door. Thanks a millilon for dragging us through this three month battle and then slopping us through the mud!!!! Never ever, ever get a scotia mortgage
yes, Scotiabank is horrible, employees are inadequate rude and unprofessional.
I just got phone call from my father in Toronto saying I have $10 fee of inacitivy of my scene visa card which I have not been using for last year. I am working in U.S right now, and this call from my father made me really pissed off. I called the number and asked what this was all about. Then, the lady told me that at first day when I created the card, the representive should have told me about the ‘inactivity fee’ which I never heard about from any other institution. Finally, she transferred my call to her supervisor and thankfully she decided to waive that stupid $10 fee and cancelled the card right away. However, her attitude was very rude and in addition to that she also threatened me by saying all other institutions have inactivity fee. I called my TD visa and was confirmed that there is no such fee for not using card within a year. Yes, scotiabank employees even lie to innocent people. I have more than 5 credit cards and 3 of them I don’t even touch, but only scotiabank sent me this letter of ‘inactivity fee’. I really do hope and pray that they go on bankrupcy and out of business soon. They suck…really!!!
I dealt with scotiabank many years ago only because it was the only branch available to me where i worked. I opened an account to have my cheques deposited and everything was fine and dandy until they started posting my Pre Authroizations perhaps minutes before my payroll deposit went through resulting in and NSF fee and Overdraft handling fee.
I went straight to the branch and rose hell but their solution is; Well there is nothing we can do about it. It is just how the system posts the transactions even though there is money in the account the system chooses to post the transactions before hand in their favor so they can rack on the NSF and Overdraft Fee’s. Same thing happened one time when i deposited 20$ dollars into my account, went out and bought gas and what not and again They posted the transactions before the deposit resulting in the overdraft fee their excuse for that was that it was deposited on the weekend. I didn’t understand how this could have even happened seeing how i didn’t even have an overdraft on my account and naturally my debit card would have been declined if there was no money in the account
Also to add to my frustrations, I applied for low interest rate visa card. I wanted 3000$ dollars available on the card. I thought that was a fair amount. I Have good credit history, over 60K in investments own my house out right so I thought there would be no problem. Well Scoitabank felt i didn’t need 3000$ and 1000$ would suffice until they felt i proved myself worthy. Even with all this information including my well paying job they refused to give me what i wanted. How can you travel on 1000$? with booking flights, hotels it would suck up my card in that just alone!
Needless to say I tryed canceling my card but they refused to refund me the annual fee. So i kept it for a year and used it here and there just so they wouldn’t have the glory of ripping me off again. While all of this was going on i went to 2 other banks who were happy to throw at me whatever i wanted in credit and i can happily say I am done with scotiabank. Today I just canceled my visa with them so i am nothing but smiles.
Thats my rant As much as i hate cibc i would defenetly choose them any day over scotiabank lol
Hi i have dealt with Scotiabank for 10 years on a business loan/ line of credit. The business failed due to litigation. Scotiabank (the bastards) have forced us into bankruptcy. They do not even have original papers that say we made a personal gurantee. This doen’t matter shit to them, they take the position that they are big and have all the money in the world, so they will screw you just because they can. I advise everyone to close all accounts with the bastards
I just got off the phone with ScotiaBank — another “Sorry we boned you, but there’s nothing we can do” — you know, except without the whole “sorry” part. So I’m out $300 in service fees and horseshit because of their dubious business practices. Naturally, I won’t deal with them again, and I am going to encourage everyone I know to cease dealing with them because of this.
I hope everyone on this blog has done something similar — encouraged everyone they know to cease doing business with Scotiabank after they were screwed around. Nothing like hitting them in the pocketbook.
hi all, to be frank Scotia bank the one and only institution that’s fucked me over more times than the fingers in my hands. Just to mention a few stories:
In late 2008 I took out 600$ U.S. from my scotia bank before leaving to El Salvador for a couple of months only to find out later that one of the 50.$ dollar bills was a fake. Came back to Canada to face the stupid teller wearing a vacuous smile and a makeup caked mask and gave me an unsatisfactory explanation to what happened. Finally she suggested that I hand over the 50$ bill to them to sent over to the “central bank”in Ottawa . What the fuck is the central bank? some imaginary institution in the outer edges of space where fake bills are produced I suppose.
The second story involves me not being able to get a credit card from these pathetic fuckheads. I have several investment accounts with them: TFSA , RRSP, power savings…and a bunch of shitload of other stuff which I regret to have now. However, because I am an artist and don’t have a “stable” income” and don’t hold down a steady job according to what the capitalist system requires every person to do, then my financial standing is not credible enough for them. I talked to this loser manager who referred me over to the director who referred me over to the floor manager who referred me to some other idiot. I ended up talking to a teller who recommended TD bank for a credit card instead. Can you believe a teller working for scotia bank advising me to take my business somewhere else…………….I happily accepted her offer without hesitation. Next day comes, lord and behold I got a simple no frills attached credit card with a low credit limit with TD bank instead. No hustles, no problem. Even buddy at TD bank was surprised that my own stupid bank would not give me a credit card. what losers!
third problem is that I keep getting these calls that my account has “been compromised”. This shit happens at least 3 to 4 times every second month. What the fuck is up with these idiots. It seems like they are so suspicious with people’s financial activities and make it pivotal to freeze people’s accounts in order to protect us. what a crock of shit!
Fourth is the current problem I am facing now where I was wired money from an institution in the States that supports artist. Apparently Scotia bank has some fucked up policy that if a wire over 10,000 $ from any other country is deposited in your account, then you will need to give them proof of that institutions last 3 monthly statements. What the fuck is up their assholes. It is downright creepy, invasive and perverted. the institution (whom I received the grant from) is a recognized legitimate body of funding for artists, yet my idiot bank is “suspicious” of who they are and of money laundering activities. The Moron manager at the bank is reviewing the situation and will direct whatever papers they need to the director who will talk to the police. Holly shit all this administrative bullshit just so I can access my money. Once this problem is resolved (and I know it will by hook or by crook) I will close every account in this pathetic bank and take my business and peace of mind somewhere else and if they ask me why I’ve taken this decision my answer will be: Just shut the fuck up and do as I say you bastards.
please please people don’t do any business with this bank and pass the word around
in the time of my life where i consider the “bored” phase, i was bank surfing the 5 largest banks in canada. scotiabank is the only bank…you need to go to the home branch to do anything. sure online banking is good yes but the people there also seem to think they can just call people on a regular basis and say” oh your debit cards been compromised”. their excuse for it was “apparently sometimes there are reported criminal activities in the area with debit cards and they can cease your information” i bought that…idiot i was. the next month, they called again with the same problem. i talked to a scotiabank employee and he said he himself had to change his five times in his life…hahahaha!
Hi friends, ScotiaBank SUCKS!
They have pretty LOW limites and the have temporary blocked my card like 20 times, also I work in the internet, and for some reasons they have FROZEN my debit card! I have all my money there, right now it is sunday and I cant do anything about it, tomorrow Ill try to get all my money of from this bank, and I will return to RBC, RBC is MUCH better, ScotiaBank are freacking frauders, I just hate them, They keep asking Where am earning all those money I have, I keep answering in the internet, well It is not their FUCKING business, I’ll just fuck them tomorrow!
Bank of Nova Scotia loves to take money from poor people in terms of fees!
I FUCKEN HATE SCOTIABANK!!!!FUCKKKKKK SCOTIABANK!!!!!
I have a Scotiabank Scene Visa, has been a recurring curse for over a year. I moved apartments, changed my address and then called to verify that they changed my address. A couple months later my card is frozen and I find out that I owed interest and haven’t been paying my bills. What bills? I didn’t receive any! So I called and found out that my bills were sent to the wrong address. They apparently changed my address in one part of the system, but not some other part that tells where to send the mail. So they told me I owed $50 bucks on the bill so I paid it. No bills came to my address still. So I later found out after calling and fighting to get some bills sent that I actually owed $500, $50 was the minimum payment. Why didn’t they just tell me my balance. They reimbursed about $30 out of $50 in interest and I later started getting bills after being in contact with an actual branch. Now I just found out (a year later) that I have about $5 interest, because once again I did not get my bill last month. Apparently they don’t always send bills if the purchases are under $50 I think. MBNA sends me bills even if I have a $1 credit or balance! F$%# Scotiabank, I am canceling my card and all business with this bank. My girlfriend’s experience there is even worse with the banking side, but I won’t even go there.
This might be a little off topic, but I am an past employee at Scotiabank and its just horrible here. People don’t say shit when you walk in the door and they ignore you when you leave. NO MANNERS whatsoever. One of the most fucked up experiences was I got a personal complaint and my manager just told me to comply with the complaint. This is not acceptable, backstabbing people in the face and I cannot find who it is? Manager won’t step up to solve the problem and I am left wondering whom “told” on me and is such a coward that they went to my manager. Obviously, I couldn’t defend myself because I don’t know who’s attacking and seriously, in a bank office environment you can just go around telling managers about other people’s lifestyles? Conclusion: do not BANK or WORK at this shithole.
Some of your complaints actually make Scotia look like a prudent institution. IMO, a bank’s reluctance to lend money to just about anyone is a GOOD thing; however, most other grievances voiced here are justified, and I echo similar problems. I’m not going to get into criticism at an individual level, but I agree that Scotia is systemically about as bad a bank as there is in Canada. After more than 15 years with Scotia, I am switching to TD…or ANY other bank.
Great Title, lol.
So we’ve banked at scotia for 6 years here in Saskatoon, Sask… We recently moved from the East side of the city to the west side. Naturally we switched branches to be closer. Worst mistake we could of ever made. The treatment since moving has been absolutely horrible. The branch manager there talks to you like your an employee of her’s. Customer service is non existent. Not sure if the stigma attached to the west side is attached here but it sure seems like it. We feel like we are treated like scum there….
Thanks for hearing my rant and If I were you, I would stay as far away from Scotia as you possibly can!
I wish I had found this page a year and bit ago when I decided to leave td after eleven years. Since day 2 with them after they were nice to my face signing up with them and moving accounts there they have been nothing but Totally insulting and I would say up most highly unprofessional. My mother has worked in the financial industry for almost 30 years first at CIBC for about 16 now at a credit union so I know how the banking world works but I have never seen anything like this. I thought maybe it was just the tellers at my branch or rude telephone reps or maybe I just over reacted but my boyfriend and I now have gone into almost every branch in the city we live in . I just recently wasted over an hour on the phone for the first time trying to inquire about some basic information in loans they offer and set up an appointment. It took be redirected to 4 departments to finally speak to someone at the actual branch who is turn told me nothing but promised that if he did not answer there P.O. she would make sure personally that he got the message so we could set up a time as soon as possible to come in branch. Hours passed but no phone called I got more ticked because these were straight forward easy questions they should be trained to answer even if not a loan officer they should be properly trained on what services they offer etc to an extent I know at all branches my family has worked at they all could of answered these questions in 2 mins. Anyways we ended up going into the branch that evening when my boyfriend got home from work to get nothing but a even ruder teller that kept laughing like it was funny meanwhile my life is right now upside and we are pressed for time. My boyfriend owns his own home and two cars and works fulltime same place forever so we decided he would get me the loan since I don’t have much in form of equity. Anyways this teller told me he had no clue , was not trained for that etc. Are u serious? Then he could not even get someone to spare 5 mins we wanted only after waiting 7 hours for them to call us back which they never did. I was very annoyed because he could of just got an supervisor if he did not know what he was doing etc. I took a deep breath and said ok what about tomorrow saturday the branch was open till 4 but he then said oh sorry were booked for the whole day!!!! Unreal he is laughing rude whole time to top it off. They don’t give to flying f…cks about there customers. I know a lot of tellers etc grew up with them from all CIBC, TD etc I wont lie a lot of tellers can be rude it’s just not one branch but at least they will do what the customer wants or in the customers best interests and most of all when someone is in a huge emergency don’t make them wait longer days to not even get a call or appointment but just take 5 mins to answer some basic questions! JESUS this guy had the nerve to tell me well it’s not what he’s paid for in a snotty way. I have complained several times about there reps had a f ull out argument in branch with teller after she realized that some of the tellers knew me and I was not a fraud etc and had worked with my mother etc her tone all of a sudden changed. NEVER EVER DEAL WITH THEM~! TO top it off they had the spellings of my mothers maiden name as my security question spelled wrong, I had to go into my home branch four times but yet everytime I had to go online or call telephone banking they gave me a super hard time and treated me like a criminal because the spelling was different. Then to insult us and say well that’s how its’ spelled in the system. NO SHIT U IDIOT but that’s how our name ispelled. To top it off they had me listed working for an employer I never even had heard of or worked at. I had to ge ta new card go into branch take 2 hours of work to sort out with manager of branch cuz of there screwups. I now am screwed We seriously need a loan and where etc now to get it I have no idea based on time frame etc. I banked with td for eleven years prior do not care to go back . Don’t know where to go to get the loan we need at a resonable rate not sky rocket rate but at least fair. Anyone have an idea? Please help so I can get away from scotia!
Thanks for listening and SCOTIA do u even have customers left? serious
Hi, I am a single mom who is currently being shafted by Scotiabank. I recently went through a divorce and was awarded by the supreme court of canada 1/2 and a bit of the RRSP’s being held in scotiabank. I was told by the branch manager, Paul, in Williams Lake BC that final, certified orders from a Supreme Court Judge were not enough for SB to divide that asset. In their own instructions for division of rrsp’s in the event of marriage breakdown, it states that orders from a judge are all I need because my deadbeat ex-husband won’t sign the division papers. I not only provided orders from a judge, I provided orders from a Supreme Court Judge…I cannot go any higher in the court system!!! Not happy with this service, I phoned the Office of the President of Scotiabank, the representative there had the audacity to tell me that they don’t have to follow a judge’s orders!!! This is my life’s savings and I AM NOT GIVING UP WITHOUT A HELL OF A FIGHT!!!!! I am seriously considering going to the media with my story before I take the step of taking SB to court. Oh yeah, when we do go to court, I am going to be charging them also with stealing my house…after I left my ex, someone from the SB branch in Williams Lake BC told him to stop paying the mortgage because “he couldn’t afford it”. My ex testified under oath to this at our divorce trial and the judge told us that we have a good case against the bank for stealing our house!
ScotiaBank and it’s employees are SCUM!!!
7-10 years ago Customer service was just wonderful at scotia bank. They were looking for new clients here in Quebec .I was very happy and proud to recommend them to any friends or colleagues. I actually kept doing businness with them even though i moved far up north where they had no branch. I tought they were worth the drive. BIG MISTAKE!
A few years later….i can’t wait to get rid of them!!! customer service is nonexistant. they dont even call back when you request info on a car loan or any change in your portfolio. you have to keep calling and their actually quite impolite ….How can I change bank (mortgage) without a huge penalty and wich bank to you guys recommend ?
As a Canadian it has been absolute hell trying to open a simple bank account in Costa Rica. A six page application, the requirement to produce a number of references, many weeks of waiting. The application falls just short of giving blood and taking an anal exam. When Scotiabank decided to move their operation into Costa Rica, they should have given more effort to provide decent service.
One of the worst banks I dealt with and I currently deal with 3 banks. very poor customer service, they have lost my business which is over half a million dollars for life.
Found a lost wallet on the street which had money and debit cards in it, had a scotia card, went to scotia branch , begged them to give my cell phone number to the owner of the card, they refused even to get the card from me. then called the head office who finally contacted the lady and told her. Bunch of stuck ups. never again.
fuck scotiabank and their bullshit policies. any scotia execs reading this, take heed from another C-level. Your bank is garbage, your marketing is garbage, your IT is garbage. You should be proud. You Fucking gonads.
I paid $20 to cancel a cheque then they charged me $45 NSF fee. I called to have them remove it they refused saying its only good for 3 month but just prior the same bank said its good for 6 month. After calling and calling I finally got a nice girl on the phone that reversed the fee. Then when I looked over my banking statement I noticed my fee’s have been raised. This month $32.05 on my savings account from a maximum of a few dollars for months prior to the problem bellow suspicious at least.
More criminal behavior from this same bank was when they cut my card up. This last month I sent my assistant to get my rent and grocery money because my daughter was sick just out of hospital. I was forced to go to the bank to get a card or miss my rent, pay late fee and have no money over a long weekend for grocery and her doctors prescription from the pharmacy.
I am so disgusted with these people are stealing from me and my 5 year old girl. I am saddened that once again the big banks are proving how how of little value we are to them. As if they are not already stealing enough from Ava and me with the hundreds in fees.
To top it off they are closing my account because I swore at the teller on the phone when she refused to listen to my plea’s to not force us out into the cold and rain, I begged her but when this was obviously going no were as a human and a father I admit I lost my cool and can not imagine even the most conservative person would not. Really what real and caring parent would not I mean we were just out of hospital and I was up all night nursing my child I was tired and beside myself with anger that this insensitive narcissist was going to force us to venture out into the cold and rain while my 5 year old girl was coughing, sick and throwing up.
Shame on Scotia Bank SHAME on the people that work at Scotia Bank that are so insensitive as to risk the life and health of my five year old girl Ava Wettstein. Shame Scotia Bank for all the other people they have humiliated and inconvenienced just to access their own money and most of all shame on Scotia bank for being so obviously unconcerned with the health and welfare of a 5 year old girl and her loving father.
As surprising as it was when I went to the bank I was able to video the entire thing with my daughter crying and coughing and the bank not even apologizing actually the opposite closing my account and even hostile.
I plan on creating a blog and posting the video when I have time to edit it down as I have the phone recording, the trip to the bank, my sick child crying and breaking my heart and then the discussion with the bank manager its over 2 hours of the most humiliating and shameful behavior I have ever been a victim of.
When my blog is done I will be mailing it to the media and I will be trying to solicit a lawyer to take my case if I am not satisfied with the response to this letter.
I have also just now created a Scotia Bank Complaints Facebook page and will be actively searching out people to share their complaints and horrer stories to do with Scotia Bank.
This is the page I am building a complaints board for with the tools and resources to properly address complaints. Including Consumer protection resources, Scotia Bank and associate company emails, MLA, MP and other relevant emails and contact info. This is where I will post my story and video along with many others, ScotiaBankComplaints.com
please come and post complaints about Scotiabankster Vampire Zombies here

I was completely unaware that Scotiabank had the right to descriminate, as well as socially and racially profile it’s customers.
I was ‘singled out’ while waiting in line for a teller. The branch manager approached me and explained that I had to remove my hat and glasses as I was deemed a threat to the safety, security of the customers and staff. I politely answered that I was a customer. I removed the items from my body, as requested while demonstrating composure,
The transaction with my teller was pleasant on my part but extremely awkward for her.
I sent a message to Scotiabank about my experience. Their response was weak. I expected nothing less.
I’m happy to say that I’m not a customer of Scotiabank..
